PolyLink Protein Coupling Kit

PolyLink Protein Coupling Kit
for covalent attachment of proteins to COOH microspheres

Making it Easier to Use Our Beads
Bangs Laboratories now offers Polysciences' PolyLink Protein Coupling Kit for covalent attachment of proteins to carboxyl (COOH) modified microspheres. The kit has been optimized for use with polymer microspheres 1µm or larger. The contents of the kit are sufficient for 50 coupling reactions using 200-500µg of protein per reaction.

Kit Components

Water Soluble Chemistry
By activating the carboxyl groups with water-soluble carbodiimide, an active ester is created that is reactive toward primary amines on the protein of interest. Everything you need has been combined into one easy-to-use kit!

A step-by-step procedure is provided in our Product Data Sheet #644, "PolyLink Protein Coupling Kit for COOH Microspheres" (which you may download from our website). Optimizing the protein to microsphere ratio and incubation times for your particular protein is recommended.

IgG Binding: Effect of Particle Size and Protein Amount

The kit contains:

  • PolyLink Coupling Buffer (55mL)
  • PolyLink Wash/Storage Buffer (45mL)
  • PolyLink EDAC (Carbodiimide) (750mg)

Expected Results

The graphic on the right shows the effect of particle size on protein binding. Three different sizes of carboxyl-modified microspheres were exposed to three different levels of anti-Rat IgG protein. The smaller particles present more surface area per unit of mass and therefore bind more total protein.
