Bangs Laboratories is proud to announce a new line of UNIFORM Magnetic Microspheres

COMPEL™ beads are our new highly uniform, superparamagnetic microspheres, in diameters of approximately 3, 6, and 8µm, with CVs of ≤ 5%, ideal for applications that demand uniform bead response, such as miniaturized bioassays and separations. The picture below is of 6µm COMPEL™ particles.

These monodisperse spheres are composed of magnetite in a polymer matrix. Beads are overcoated with functional polymer to encapsulate the magnetite and provide reactive groups, such as COOH. The high level of functionalization permits efficient coupling of biomolecules.

COMPEL™ microspheres are rapidly separated using magnetic separators, such as our newly available LifeSep™ magnetic particle separators. Superparamagnetic particles respond to a magnet, but have negligible magnetic remanence, so they won't remain clumped together, and can be rapidly redispersed for further processing.

COMPEL™ superparamagnetic particles complement our established line of microsphere products. COOH-functionalized beads are immediately available, with other surfaces soon to be introduced.
