A suspension of magnetic iron oxide particles, approximately 1.5µm in size, BioMag anti-Human CD2 particles are designed for positive selection of CD2 plus human T cells. The CD2 antigen, also known as leukocyte functional-associated antigen 2 (FLA-2), is a monomeric 50kDa glycoprotein that is a receptor for sheep erythrocytes and the CD58/FLA-3 ligand. CD2 plays a role in T cell signaling and lymphocyte adhesion. It is expressed on the vast majority of thymocytes and all peripheral T lymphocytes and is also expressed on malignant cells of T cell origin including T-ALL and a subset of NK cells.
