QuantumPlex™

QuantumPlex is an innovative new bead kit for multiple analyte-detection research applications in flow cytometry. A breakthrough in high throughput screening, QuantumPlex allows for detection of up to 10 different analytes per sample or efficient screening of multiple samples. The result? Flexible, efficient and cost-effective throughput.

QuantumPlex:

  • 5 or 10 bead sets
  • internally dyed with varying intensities of red-emitting fluorochrome
  • suitable for use with any standard flow cytometer
  • able to detect up to 10 analytes per sample

The QuantumPlex beads come in 5-bead sets of two sizes. The two kits are also sold together as a set of ten. Each set consists of five populations internally dyed with varying intensities of Bangs' proprietary dye, Starfire Red™. The dye excites with an Argon (488nm) or He-Ne (633nm) laser, and emits in the far red (690nm). The beads are available with an anti-Mouse (GAM) IgG, Streptavidin, or Carboxyl surface.

These kits were designed with multiplexing in mind. There is very little "bleed-over" from the Starfire Red dye into the FL1 and FL2 channels, allowing the use of these channels for analyte detection.

The kit allows you to test a single sample for up to 10 different analytes. The kit is very versatile, and can be easily adapted to fit many research applications.

By gating on the bright population in the FL1 channel, the "positive" beads may easily be distinguished from the other in the kit.

Our QuantumPlex SP beads are ideal for researchers who are interested in exploring the benefits and power of flow cytometry. QuantumPlex SP is ideal for applications that do not require, or simply are not ready for, a multiplexed platform. Because the microspheres are internally labeled with the same Starfire Red™ dye used in the QuantumPlex multiplexing kits, the beads provide the researcher with an inexpensive means of optimizing surface conjugations, which may then be readily transferred to the multiplexed format.
