QuantumPlex SP is ideal for applications that do not require, or simply are not ready for, a multiplexed platform. Because the microspheres are internally labeled with the same Starfire Red™ dye used in the QuantumPlex multiplexing kits, the beads provide the researcher with an inexpensive means of optimizing surface conjugations, which may then be readily transferred to the multiplexed format.

Bangs Labs offers fluorescence intensity calibration products referred to as Quantum MESF kits. These kits use a series of four fluorescent standards which have been calibrated against solutions of high purity fluorescent dyes in terms of molecules of equivalent soluble fluorochrome (MESF) units per microsphere standard. In addition to the fluorescent standards, each kit includes an unstained microsphere population to measure the fluorescence threshold, or background noise level of the instrument. Each Quantum MESF kit includes a QuickCal® data diskette to be used with the optional QuickCal® v. 2.3 analysis software.

The Quantum Simply Cellular kit is one of the most sophisticated products produced by Bangs Labs. It provides the flow cytometry laboratory with a direct and easy means to quantitate Antibody Binding Capacity (ABC) on subsets of cells. The Quantum Simply Cellular kit is a mixture of five populations of microspheres, a blank (negative control) and four Simply Cellular populations, which express different calibrated binding capacities for mouse IgG monoclonal antibodies. The Quantum Simply Cellular kit also contains a QuickCal® data diskette to be used with the optional QuickCal® v. 2.3 analysis software.

Although the major focus of Bangs' flow cytometry division is on fluorescent microsphere standards for flow cytometry and fluorescence microscopy, we do provide custom synthesis of microspheres for a variety of applications.
