Bangs Labs announces the 14th offering of the popular international course, "Designing Microsphere-Based Tests and Assays"
January 2001, Indianapolis, IN. Formerly known as "Diagnostic Application of Latex Technology, Theory and Practice" (The Latex Course⢠), the new course "Designing Microsphere-Based Tests and Assays" will be held April 30-May 2, 2001 in San Diego, CA. This course will cover the broadly applicable technology used in human healthcare screening tests and assays, veterinary and agricultural tests, and for assaying toxic chemicals in foods, water, and the general environment. Newest uses include high throughput screening (HTS) in pharmaceutical research, flow cytometry, and molecular biology. Practical details of latex (or microsphere) preparation, processing, formulation, properties, and characterization will be given. The course offers a solid information base for those involved in this rapidly growing and evolving technology. Course content is continually revised in response to input from previous participants and includes extensive hand out materials (a more than 500 page book covering the latest latex technology). In addition to the scheduled sessions featuring a truly international faculty of 10 respected experts in this field, several companies will exhibit during the course. These exhibits will offer a unique opportunity to review products and services directly related to microsphere-based technology.
