November 2011 - Flow cytometers are commonly equipped with two or more lasers that permit the development of expanded multicolor panels. This ability to analyze cells that are labeled with multiple fluorochromes is important to clinical applications such as immunophenotyping and surveillance of lymphocyte subsets, as well as research applications including vaccine development and proteomics.

November 2011  - Many flow cytometers are equipped with two or more lasers that permit the analysis of multiple fluorescent labels on each cell. As the individual cell passes each laser, relevant fluorophores are excited, and fluorescence is measured in corresponding detectors. For this information to be meaningful, however, the data that are collected by the detectors off of each laser must be integrated and attributed to the proper cell. This is where Bangs can help!

November 2011 - SureCount™ Particle Count Standards can aid in instrument validation and ongoing QC, and support Gage studies and operator proficiency testing. They offer a convenient means to check flow meters and filtration systems. SureCount microspheres are available in four sizes from 3µm to 15µm, and diameters are traceable to NIST Standard Reference Materials. The standards are supplied as 1 x 10⁶ microspheres/mL aqueous suspensions in 10mL volumes.

Our pure SiO₂, spherical, highly uniform silica microspheres have now been paired with a Bind-IT™ pre-activated surface. Bind-IT™ chemistry offers high and uniform binding through a simple incubation of microspheres and protein. It confers exceptional stability to the protein-coated silica surface, but without the more complex reagents and protocols required by covalent coatings.

October 2010 – Bangs Laboratories is proud to announce the addition of ProMag™ 1µm magnetic microspheres to its product line. Like its 3µm counterpart, 1µm ProMag™ boasts stringent size uniformity, fast and uniform separations, high coating capacity, and low nonspecific binding of proteins. The smaller 1µm size offers far greater surface area per unit weight, which may present a considerable advantage for the purification of biomolecules or capture of low-concentration targets.

October 2010 – Bangs Laboratories is now offering the instructional book for The Latex Course™, which was recently held in Florida. Continuously updated and advantageous for both novices and experts in the field, Designing Microsphere-Based Tests and Assays provides comprehensive information regarding practical applications of microsphere technology. This 250-page instructional book is comprised of manuscripts from presentations given at the associated course by speakers known as experts in the field.

April 2010 - Bangs Laboratories is truly thrilled to announce the addition of the Alexa Fluor® 488 Quantum™ MESF Kit and the Alexa Fluor® 488 and Alexa Fluor® 647 Reference Standards to our extensive line of flow cytometry products. Alexa Fluor® dyes offer intense fluorescence and excellent photostability, which is why they are used to label all sorts of things (antibodies, peptides, oligos) that investigators like to stick to cells or microspheres.
